Mr. James “Ike” O’Barr age 69 of Hartwell, GA passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. Born December 9, 1956, he was the son of the late John Edward and Ruth “Inez” (Madden) O’Barr. Ike was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church. Ike enjoyed camping and fishing. Tending to his garden and feeding the birds and deer.

In addition to his parents Ike is preceded in death by his brother – in- law Everett Lathan.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Tecie Verner of Watkinsville, GA. Sister Fran Lathan of Hartwell, GA, and Brother Randall O’Barr (Vera) of Mt. Airy, GA Granddaughter Kaley Verner and niece Michelle Lathan. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Ike will be laid to rest at the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Reed Creek Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.
