James Milton "Jim" Nelms

James "Jim" Milton Nelms, age 88, of Lost Trail, Hartwell, GA, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs.Gwen Plemons Nelms.

He was born October 30, 1930 in Fulton Co, Atlanta GA. to the late Stewart Grady Nelms and Cora Evans Nelms.

He was a U.S Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and attended Reed Creek Baptist Church. He was retired as a printer from Dittler Bros Printing.

Mr. Nelms is survived by his wife, children; Susan(Karl) Wendorf of Chattanooga Tenn. and Sharon(Randy) Martin of Dallas GA.,sibling; Thomas C. Nelms, grandchildren; Matthew(Andi) Wendorf, Lindsey(Kelly) Felix, Trent and Trevor Martin; great-grandchildren, Claire and Avett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at six o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors 333 E Johnson St. Hartwell GA, 30643 with Rev. Eric Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-6pm. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at ten o'clock at Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
