Mr. James Herman Johnson, age 62, of Lavonia, Georgia, was call to eternal rest on Friday, September 4, 2026. Born January 1, 1964, in Hartwell, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Henry Johnson and Mary Shirley (McCurry) Johnson.

James worked as a medical courier and was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed the simple things in life and especially loved cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, playing cornhole, and was the house hold Grill Master. Time spent with family and those he loved brought him great joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and memories.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Loutessue Teasley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Leann Johnson; daughter, Tasha Johnson and her husband, Quint Maxwell; son, James Johnson and his wife, Ronika; siblings, Sharon Rucker, Marion Merritt, Clementine Johnson, and Marcus Johnson; and his special sister-in-law, Valorie Johnson. He is also survived by grandchildren Ta'shay, Kiara, Re-jhuna, Jashay, Mikuria, Nykhia, Mallix, and Naylani, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Family and Friends are encouraged to wear their Georgia Red and Black as we honor James's life.
