James Dunnell Gaines

Mr. James Dunnell Gaines, age 72 of Anderson SC formerly of Hartwell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Anmed Medical Center in Anderson. He was born on December 10, 1951 in Hartwell Georgia to the late Dewey Gaines and Dorothy Marie Isom. He worked in the construction business and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, dancing, fishing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his children, daughter Jasmin Gaines, son Tito Davidson; by his siblings; Roy Lee Gaines, Clyde Gaines, Dwight Sherrard.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Gaines of Anderson, Kortney Gaines or Roxboro NC, Jamie and Brandon Hope of High Point NC,  Jay Dee Gaines of Hartwell, Precious Robinson Gaines of Anderson SC, Josiah Gaines of Anderson SC, Kenyatta Davidson of Greensboro NC, his siblings; Gloria Heard, Bobbie Mayfield and Charlie Sherard; 14 Grandkids and 5 Great Grandkids. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
