Obituary for Inez Parker Bailey
Mrs. Inez Parker Bailey, age 91, of 703 Vickery Street, Hartwell, GA, widow of the late Ira McLees “Mac” Bailey, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Hart County, GA on March 30, 1925, daughter of the late Willie “Will” Royal Parker and Eula Holland Parker. She was a graduate of Hart County High School, an employee of Bailes-Cobb Department Store for more than 20 years, and a homemaker. Mrs. Bailey was a former active member of Reed Creek Baptist Church where she served as General Secretary for Sunday School and Training Union for more than 20 years each, a former choir member and Church Teller. She also served on the Pastorium and the Church Stained Glass Windows Committees and served as secretary of her Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Aldeen Bailey Cook Baker and her husband Rayford Baker of Hartwell, GA; one niece, Jan Parker Boles and her husband Leslie Boles of Lavonia, GA; one nephew, Harold Travis Parker of Lavonia, GA; two great nephews: Lance Parker Boles of Hartwell, GA and Landy Champion Boles and his wife Katie, of North Augusta, S.C.; and several cousins and friends. Mrs. Bailey’s special caregivers: Frances Buffington, Betty Sadler, Thelma Estrich, Shirley Johnson, and Paula James also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold Espy Parker and his wife Lila Belle Bailey Parker; and sister, Jeanette Parker Bartlett and her husband Daniel M. Bartlett.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Inez Bailey will be held on Friday, June 10, at 4 o’clock in the Chapel of Coile-Hall-Spagnoli Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Sam Gray and the Reverend Edwin Simmons of Hartwell. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Nancy Hart Memorial Park, Hartwell, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. The family is at their respective homes.
