Gwen Nelms

Mrs. Gwendolyn "Gwen" Plemons Nelms, age 86 of Reed Creek, passed away June 1, 2021. Gwen was born on July 25, 1934 in Tellico Plains, TN

Gwen was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. They all loved her pound cakes and her biscuits. All that knew Gwen admired her cleaning abilities. She was a housewife and member of Reed Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelms, parents, Hobson and Reba F. Luther Plemons, brother, Bob Plemons, sisters, Mary Thorpe, Lila Teague and Ruth Young.

Survivors include, daughters, Susan (Karl) Wendorf, Sharon (Randy) Martin, grandchildren, Matt (Andi) Wendorf, Lindsey (Kelly) Felix, Trent and Trevor Martin. Great-grandchildren, Claire Wendorf, Avett and Evan Felix, sisters, Doris Shadden, Judy Turpin, Jewell Parker and June Plemons, brothers, Gerald, Jim and Jerry Plemons along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Two o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, with Rev. Eric Boyd officiating. She will be laid to rest in a private service with her husband at Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors.
