Gloria June Cartwright Norton

Ms. Gloria June Cartwright Norton, age 89 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

Gloria was born on June 18, 1935 in Staples, MN to the late Donald Cartwright and Cecilia Walker Cartwright. She began her career with Southern Airways in Atlanta, later she opened the Co-Ed Restaurant in Athens and frequently served the Georgia Bulldogs after practice, she also owned the Elders Lodge. Gloria finished her career with Reliance Electric as an accountant. She was a member of Hartwell First Methodist Church, Stephens Ministry and Sojourners. She was a member of Pilot Club and volunteered with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

She is survived by; children, Cindy (Billy) Walker and Elaine Carson all of Hartwell, Brad (Lydia) Norton of Las Vegas, NV and Brenda (Glenn) Davis of Simpsonville, S.C., six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Buddy Norton, daughter, Cathy Elder and three siblings.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at One o'clock from Hartwell First Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall. She will be laid to rest privately at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
