Gloria Bowman

Ms. Gloria Jean Brown Bowman, age 69 of Coldwater Road in Dewy Rose, Ga., passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at home with family by her side.

Born on March 27, 1953 in Hartwell, Georgia to the late Arthur Buddy Brown and Julia Mae Gaines Brown. Ms. Gloria Bowman loved softball and was known as the "In the Park Homerun Queen." She was a machine operator in the textile industry and of the Baptist Faith.

Ms. Gloria Bowman is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Robert, Roger, and Casey Brown.

She is survived by her spouse, Fred Bowman, children; Arthur Brown (Sondra) of Comer, Ga., Demond Bowman of Hartwell and Nicole McCullough (Willie) of Dewy Rose, Ga. Siblings; Fannie Alexander of Hartwell, Susie Hill of Bowersville, Idell Mills of Cincinnati, OH and Kenneth Brown of Anderson, SC. 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral Services for Ms. Gloria Bowman will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Cremation will follow the service. A wake will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1564 Coldwater Rd. Dewy Rose, GA 30634.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
