Mr. George B. Ferenchak, age 70 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House.
George was born May 16, 1951 in Youngstown, OH., the son of the late Cyril Ferenchak and Wlima Novak Ferenchak. He grew up on the Southside of Youngstown, OH. and graduated from St. Matthias School, Cardinal Mooney High School (Class of 1969), and Youngstown State University. He married Nancy Longden on February 14, 1987. George was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta, GA. He resided and worked in Stone Mountain, GA. for many years before retiring to Lake Hartwell.
To cherish George's memories are his wife; Nancy, brothers and sister; Paulette Smith of Canfield, OH., Gregory Ferenchak of Paris, TX., Margaret Ferenchak of Youngstown, OH., Theresa (David) Kantz of Wexford, PA., Michael Ferenchak of Indianapolis, IN., sister in law; Carolyn Ferenchak, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. George was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Kenneth (Carolyn) and Cyril (Marta).
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell, GA. where George was a parishioner on Friday, July 23 at Eleven o'clock. Inurnment will follow in the Memorial Garden at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
