Mrs. Geneva M. Banks was born February 4, 1949 in Hart County, Georgia to the late William Morrison and the late Reba M. Fortson. As a child she attended the Gilmore Hudson School in Royston, Georgia. She became a member of the St. Mary's C.M.E. Church. She was married to the late Willie Banks.
On July 2, 2023 she was called home to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents late William H. Morrison and late Reba M. Fortson, two sons Willie Banks Jr. and Terrance Banks, two sisters Rachel and Elizabeth , six brothers Howard Jr., Gilbert, Thomas, R.L., W.M., and James.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Pamela (Troy) James of Royston, Georgia, two sons, Ronnie Banks of Bowersville, Georgia, Donnie (Erica) Banks of Atlanta, Georgia. Four sisters Annie L. Turman, Imogene Merritt both of Royston Georgia, Mary L. Teasley of Lavonia, Georgia, Barbara (Clay) Cleveland of Toccoa, Georgia, one brother Charles (Beverly) Fortson of Atlanta, Georgia, sister-in-laws Maynell Smith, Loretha (Freddie) Dubose, and Clara Mae (Billy) Gray all of Elberton Georgia, Willie Bell (Allan) Moore of Washington, DC, one brother-in-law Major Banks of Gainesville Georgia, a host of nieces and nephews, three granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grand daughter.
The family will greet friends on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 6-7 PM at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Banks will be held on Saturday, July 8th 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at the Brown Grove Cemetery.
The family will be at the home located at 346 Jones Circle Royston, GA.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
