Gene Lawrence

Mr. Herman Eugene "Gene" Lawrence, age 76 of Ridgeview Road in Lavonia, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital with family by his side.

Born on January 25, 1947 in Hart County Georgia to the late Albert Watson Lawrence and Mary Rosalee Segars Lawrence, Mr. Herman "Gene" Lawrence was retired from AmCan Trucking and a member of River of Life Church in Hartwell, Georgia and he loved the Lord too. In his free time, Mr. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, Nascar Racing, and UGA Bulldogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; John Lawrence, Betty Jo Carruth, Billy Lawrence, Charles Lawrence, Jimmy Lawrence, Kathleen Buffington, and Viola Clark.

Mr. Herman "Gene" Lawrence is survived by his wife, Tina Slater Lawrence, children; Grady Lawrence of Central, South Carolina, Reggie Lawrence of Iva, South Carolina, and Josh Lawrence of Clemson, South Carolina. Siblings; Bob Lawrence, Inez Holland, Evelyn Gaines, and Annie Ruth Burrell (Mack) Faye Turner (Barry). 8 grandchildren; Hannah, Kelly, Alex, Brittany, Austin, and David. 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Herman "Gene" Lawrence will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:30pm in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Rev. Ken Buffington will officiate. Visitations will be held one hour prior to the service. In accordance with his wish he will be cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers you can make donations to River of Life Church at 3966 Elberton Hwy in Hartwell, Georgia.

The family will be at the home. 474 Ridgeview Rd. in Lavonia, Georgia.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
