Emma Harper

Ms. Emma Lou Sams Harper, age 77 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart.

She was born October 22, 1946. Emma was retired from the medical field where she worked as a Respiratory Therapist. She was a member of Zion CME Church.

Left to cherish her memories are; her husband, Thomas Harper, children, Perschell Johnson of Miami, Fl, Heyward Johnson of Hartwell, Ga., and Osborne Cockett of Miami, FL and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie Sams and Willie Mae Hunter Sams along with several brothers and sisters.  

Funeral services celebrating her life will be  held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at Eleven o'clock from Zion CME Church with Pastor Richard Sheller officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zion CME Church Cemetery. Emma will lie in state from 10-11 at the church.

Family members will be at the home. She will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 1-5 for those that wish to pay their respects.

Services have ben entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
