Elta Proctor

Ms. Elta  Howard Proctor, age 95 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC.

She was born on February 1, 1927 in Lumberton, NC to the late George Howard and Florence Willoughby Howard. After graduating high school, she went to work for the FBI and for a number of years she was a secretary for a research company. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by; children, Charles M. Lamm, III Laura L. Jackson, Terri Cherry, Alice Melashenko and Debbie Reid, grandchildren, Regina Jackson, Chas Lamm, Jordan Jackson and Stephanie Lamm and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne C. Proctor and siblings, George Howard, Jr., Eula Mae Richard and Larry Howard.

The family of Elta Proctor will host a memorial service on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Six o'clock at the home, 68 Benson Street in Hartwell to celebrate her life.  

Arrangements are under the care of Cole and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
