Obituary for Edwin Michael "Mike" Simpson
Mr. Edwin Michael "Mike" Simpson, age 62 of 183 West Franklin Place, Apt.1103, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his home.
Born September 28, 1955 in Anderson, SC; he was the son of the late Edwin Simpson and Emma White Simpson and was the widower of Tonnie Willis Simpson. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association. He was also a member of the Hartwell Church of Christ and the Hart County Bantam Club.
He was survived by his son, Samuel Allan Simpson of Athens, GA; brother, Randall Simpson and his wife Cindy of Hartwell; sister, Lisa Brewton and her husband Paul of Hartwell; nephews, Jeffrey, Jason, Joshua and niece, Marie. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Dale Simpson.
Funeral services for Mr. Simpson will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3:00 pm, in the chapel of the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors of Hartwell. Minister Aubrey Prestidge, Minister Terry Broome will officiate. Sam Simpson and Jeffrey Simpson will also be speaking. Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park in Hartwell. The family will be at the home of Randall and Cindy Simpson, 191 Dobbs Landing, Hartwell, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
