Douglas Wayne Diegel

Mr. Douglas Wayne Diegel passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 5, 1942 to the late Lyle Irwin Diegel and the late Miriam Dorithy Kronau Diegel. Douglas worked for CSX railroad and later for Amtrak for a total of 35 years. He enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with his family and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald Diegel.

Douglas is survived by his loving wife Helen Diegel, two sons Kurt Diegel (Audrey) of Cleveland Ga., Robert Diegel of Ocala Fla., and a sister Eileen Posey. His wishes were to be cremated. A service celebrating his life will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E Johnson St., Hartwell, Ga. 30643
