Donald William Sample
Mr. Donald William Sample, age 88 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024 at AnMed Health Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born on March 21, 1935 in Richmond, MI to the late Elmer Sample and Daisy White Sample. He retired from Champion Spark Plug Company with 27 years of service where he was marketing manager. Don enjoyed Golfing, Boating and Travel. He was very talented and played the piano, organ, saxophone and ukulele. He loved spending time with family and eating chocolate and raspberry pie. Before retiring to Hartwell he was a resident of Toledo, OH
Left to cherish his memories are; his wife of 66 years, Edna Marie Darago Sample, son, David (Beth) Sample of TN, grandsons, Daniel Sample and Jason Mathews, son in law, Dale Mathews, sister in law, Patricia Homeister. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda Mathews, brothers, Franklin Gene Sample and Dale Sample.
The family of Don Sample will host a memorial service at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or to the Hart County Humane Society.
