Dan Powell

Mr. Dan Roy Powell, age 94 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 at Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home in Augusta.

He was born on August 1, 1929 in Hartwell to the late Leonard Powell and Myra Elrod Powell. He retired from the textile industry and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Dan loved gardening, yard sales and estate sales. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Left to cherish his memories are; sons, Mike Powell of Hartwell, Ga., Stacy Powell of Anderson, S.C., step-daughters, Shelia Teasley and Rhonda Marett of Hartwell, Ga., brother, Jimmy Powell of Dallas, Ga., grandchildren, April Sanders, Shane Rowland, Christopher Michael Powell, Amber Mayfield, Zachary Powell, Robin Bannister and Lukas Marett. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evora Haley Powell and grandson, Brian Teasley along with several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023  at One o'clock from Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Kimberly officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
