Claire Seagraves

Norma Claire Seagraves, age 78 of Lavonia, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens. She was born in Atlanta Georgia to the late James Douglas Newberry and Hazel Virginia York Newberry. She worked as an office manager and loved spending time with her family, gardening, and  drinking coffee with her beloved husband Keith and taking in beautiful views of Lake Hartwell at their home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Ann Gwin. 

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Keith Seagraves of Lavonia Georgia, children, Mark (Wendy) Eskew of Ballground Georgia, Mary Jane "MJ" Atsalis and her fiance' Bruce Manno of Mooresville North Carolina, and Jeff (Ellie) Eskew of Sharpsburg, Georgia, siblings, Jim (Karen) Newberry, Harvey (Connie) Newberry, and Sue Bacchus, grandchildren, Harrison Eskew, Megan Nicholson, Abbey Werner, Claire Eskew, Jack Eskew, Grace Eskew,  Chelsea Owens, and 12 great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, March 25, 2023 at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service at Rocks Springs Baptist Church, 2229 Rock Springs Road, Lavonia Georgia 30553.
