Charles Nelson Brown

Mr. Charles Nelson Brown, age 85 of Hartwell, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Rainey Hospice House.

He was born on November 13, 1937 in Sandy Ridge, NJ to the late Louis N. Brown and Anna Jones Brown. Charles was retired from a petroleum company in HR. He was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of the Masons, American Legion, and RC Club. He loved riding motorcycles, scuba diving, sky diving, and he was a pilot and flight instructor. He proudly served our country in the Air Force from 1955 - 1959 with the rank of Airman 2nd class.

Left to cherish his memories are; his wife, Virginia Ann Moore Brown, daughter, Tracy Brown of Hartwell, Ga., and brother, Alan Brown of Peachtree City, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Michael Louis Brown.

To honor his request, Charles will be cremated and no formal service will be held at this time.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors / Lake Hartwell Cremation Center, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
