Carolyn Reid

Mrs. Carolyn Bowers "Tootsie" Reid, age 94, of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Hart Care Center. She was born on November 10, 1931, in Hart County, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Ellis Bowers and Lilly Carnes Bowers. Carolyn was a devoted homemaker and a faithful servant and worshiper at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She is lovingly remembered for her deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carolyn was known for her kind heart, patience, and tolerance toward others, always showing compassion and understanding to those around her.

In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her Husband John William Reid. Infant son Charles Barry Reid as well as five sisters, and four brothers. Left to carry her legacy are her children Kenneth Reid (Barbara) of Commerce, GA, Donna Butler (Troy) of Ila, GA., Susan Webster (Kel) of Danielsville, Ga., William Reid (Tracy) of Hartwell, Ga., and Darlene Jones of Hartwell, Ga., brother, George Bowers of Hartwell, Ga. Grandchildren, Laura, Brandy, Lindsay, Carly, Morgan, Savannah, Bryson, Sydnie, Jennifer, and Reid along with great-grandchildren, Evie, Emerie, Abram, Liv, Logan, Ryder and Parker. 

Funeral services for Carolyn Reid will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at Two o'clock with Rev. Jason Webb officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service in the church sanctuary.The family would like to thank the staff of Hart Care Center for all the love and care shown to Carolyn in her time there. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Kitchen Department, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road Hartwell, GA 30643.
