Mr. Carl Burns, age 82 of Carnesville, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Born November 11, 1943 in Carnesville, GA he was the son of the late John D. "Pete" and Naomi (Merritt) Burns. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army. 

In addition to his parents Carl is preceded in death by his wife Janie Burns. Brothers Garnet Burns, and Robby Burns. Sister Florence Harp.

 To carry his legacy and cherish his memory, Carl leaves behind his daughter Candace Walker. Sons Byron Burns (Krystal), and Roderick Beasley (Tammy). Sisters Johnnie Mae Darrisaw, Patricia Burns, Brenda Burns, Mickie Burns, and Vickie Burns. In addition to those above "PaPa" as he was affectionately known leaves a host of grandchildren, Alex, Kayla, Kyra, Brelee, Bryce, Isaiah, Alisha, Shayna, and Jada. Five great- grandchildren Lainey, Kaden, Amelia, Aviyah, and Elias. 

The family will receive friends at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors from 1:00- 2:30 on Friday, January 9, 2026. A funeral service to honor Carl's life will begin at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors of 333 E. Johnson Street, Hartwell, GA. Carl will be laid to rest following the service at the Memorial Garden of Prayer with military honors.
