Carey Dean Howell, age 73 of Hartwell Georgia, passed away on December 6, 2025 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Carey was born on Febuary 18, 1952 in Reading, PA to the late Columbus Howell and Lucy Virginia Bowen Howell. He was married to the late Barbara Louise Burke Howell. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, building model cars and was a great man.

He leaves behind three sons, Davin P. (Terri) Howell of Hartwell GA, Jamey Lee (Laura) Howell of Ocala, FL and Bobby Joe (Sara) Howell of Lavonia GA, four grandchildren, Jeremy Howell of Hartwell GA, Ethan Howell of Forest City NC, Katlyn and Taylor Howell of Hartwell GA, six step-grandchildren, Will and Maggie Agnew of Hartwell GA, Michelle Oliver of Columbia SC, Suzanna Whitmire of Ocala FL, Addison Blakely and Savannah Blakely of Lavonia GA, three step-great grandchildren, Hunter and Stephen Agnew of Hartwell GA and Grayson Oliver of Columbia SC. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents Columbus and Lucy Howell

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 1082 Elrod Ferry Road, Hartwell Georgia from 1:00-5:00 pm.
