Bonita Allen

Bonita Sue Allen formerly of Gainesville, GA died on Sunday April 2^nd, 2023 at The Veranda in Carnesville GA.

Ms. Allen was born on January 26th, 1951 to the late John David & Erline Gums Allen.

Bonita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. She loved music, dancing, taking cruises with her sisters, shopping, and spending time with her grandsons and with her family.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, John & Erline and her brother Phillip Allen. She is survived by her sisters Rebecca Allen Brake and Mona Rae Daniels (Johnny), and her brother John Nelson Allen (Cathy) all of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are daughter Kimberly Shearin (Craig) of Gainesville, GA, and sons Thomas (Bubba) Frier (Sharon) of Seneca, SC, and Jason Rhoads of Copper Hill, TN. As well as her beloved grandchildren Duncan, Jacob, Justin, Zack, Landon and Grayson, and great grandson Walker.

Bonita spent her life and career helping others in need, and her last days were spent spreading joy with her sweet smile. She loved the Lord Jesus and that gives great comfort to the family knowing they will meet again.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life service at Providence United Methodist Church in Lavonia, GA on Saturday April 15^th, 2023 with visitation from 2:00-3:00pm followed by a service from 3:00-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia 41 Perimeter Center E #550, Atlanta, GA 30346.

A Celebration of Life Service will also be held in Roanoke Rapids, NC on Friday, April 7^th 5pm in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service 507 US-158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.  The family will receive friends from 3pm until the funeral hour.
