Mrs. Beth Lankford Carter, age 81 of Race Street in Hartwell, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Beth was born on January 11, 1941 in Hart County to the late Herbert Lankford and Louise Mauldin Lankford. She was a retired administrative assistant with Hart County Mental Health and a former clerk with Hart County Probate Court. Beth was a founding member of Hart County Botanical Gardens and a former member of Pilot Club of Hartwell. She was a member of Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by; her daughter, Claire (Rick) Phillips of Hartwell, Ga., and grandson, Griffin Phillips of Ogden Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Alston Carter.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Two o'clock in the Sanctuary of Hartwell First United Methodist Church. Dr. R. Allen Stewart will officiate. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

She will be laid to rest at Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, Ga. 30643 or to one's favorite charity in memory of Beth Carter.

The family is at the home, 186 Race Street, Hartwell, GA. The family has requested all that attend the funeral service to please wear face coverings.

Arrangements for Mrs. Beth Carter are under the direction of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
